One of the largest Indian crypto-exchange sites lost 438 bitcoins. It is assumed that the theft was committed by one of the employees of the service. The exchange was not hacked and was not attacked – the transfer of funds was made possible through direct access to the system. According to Bloomberg, Coinsecure intends to compensate customers for losses.
The process of return can be delayed, since in India operations with crypto-currencies have recently been outlawed. In particular, official financial institutions no longer have the right to conduct transactions with crypto-currencies and provide related services to the public.
The company Coinsecure appealed to the police to find a criminal.
