Roskomnadzor has made several hundred technical IP-addresses and Google domains in the register of prohibited sites. In the regulator explained that all these resources are using the Internet radio Zello, blocked in Russia.
At the time of writing the note in the registry of Roskomnadzor there are 286 Google addresses. “Inclusion in the register of prohibited resources should not affect the operation of other services,” the regulator noted.
The head of Roskosvoboda, Artem Kozlyuk, said that the technical IP addresses of Google use third-party applications and sites, which may have problems due to the blocking. This is also confirmed by the publication SecurityLab.
If the confrontation between Zello and Roskomnadzor continues, the register of prohibited resources will receive all new IP addresses, the number of which will be pulled by thousands. And then the probability of getting into blocking of innocent sites and services will increase.
The Zello application began to block on April 12, 2017 due to the refusal to register as the organizer of the dissemination of information. Internet-radio, including actively used by truckers during strikes against the system “Plato”.
In late March 2018, Roskomnadzor asked providers to block Amazon’s IP addresses to block Zello, which used them to bypass the ban. Soon the company banned the Internet radio to use their addresses.
