In the historical center of Tula on Krestovozdvizhenskaya Square during the excavations discovered 30 coffins with the remains of people buried in them. Originally, eight coffins were found, in which, in addition to the remains, they found the remains of clothing, shoes and brass crosses. The coffins are made from solid oak trunks, and are therefore well preserved. Scientists believe that the remains belong to the citizens who lived in the 70s of the XVIII century. In the future, the found bones will be reburied according to the Orthodox rite.
