In the south-east of Turkmenistan there is a plateau on which thousands of traces of dinosaurs and their trails have been preserved. At a length of 400 meters and a width of 300 meters, you can find about 3,000 well-preserved tracks. Most of the trails were used by large megalosaurs, which hunted in the coastal strip of water bodies. From their powerful hind legs remained traces of up to 70 cm in length and 65 cm in width. Also there are traces of smaller dinosaurs. Millions of years ago there was a swamp in this territory, which subsequently dried up and petrified. Then there were mountains, from which the soil layers were washed away, which opened traces of ancient animals to scientists and tourists.
