Epic Games showed the possibilities of the Unreal engine on the example of “Star Wars”

Epic Games demonstrated at the GDC 2018 conference new features of the game engine Unreal, using as an example a scene from the “Star Wars”. Unreal Engine 4 realizes the ray tracing in real time and shows how much the engine effectively works off the reflections – what happens on the screen is difficult to distinguish from reality.

The engine will be available to developers later this year thanks to NVIDIA RTX and Microsoft DirectX Raytracing technologies.

The second video shows the ability of the engine in real time to digitize the face of the actor.
