The authorities of Sri Lanka will block for three days Facebook, WhatsApp and Viber, due to the riots that have started in the country. This was reported by Reuters and Channel NewsAsia with reference to the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC).
According to the media, the authorities restricted access to social networks due to the fact that the participants in the riots in them were coordinated. The country already has a state of emergency and a curfew that limit the work of the Internet.
Since March 4, riots began in Sri Lanka , when one of the Buddhists died after a fight with Muslims. On March 5 and 6, Buddhists attacked Muslim shops and set up several arson attacks, and three victims are known. Russian tour operators noted that tourists from Russia did not suffer in the clashes.
