The Forbes billionaires rating: Bezos bypassed Gates, Durov for the first time on the list

Leader and owner of online retailer Amazon Jeff Bezos with a fortune of 112 billion dollars became the leader of the ranking of the wealthiest people in the world according to the Forbes version for the first time in history.

The publication explained the increase in the state of Bezos by a rise in the price of the company’s shares by 60%. He beat the founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, although he became richer by 4 billion dollars (all state – 90 billion).

The third was the head of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett, who is called the “most famous investor” in the world. He invested in including Wells Fargo, IBM and Coca-Cola.

The list of Russian billionaires also changed the leader. The most wealthy for Forbes was the chairman of the board of directors and the owner of a controlling stake in the NLMK group (steel company) Vladimir Lisin. The publication estimated his fortune at $ 19.1 billion. Lisin returned to the first position after 7 years – for the first time since 2011.

The founder of Novatek Leonid Mikhelson, who was the leader in 2017, remained in third place with 18 billion dollars. The owner of Severstal Alexei Mordashov remained on the second line, increasing the fortune to 18.7 billion dollars.

Durov outstripped even the founder of Badoo Andrew Andreev and the head of Yandex, Arkady Volozh. At Андреева and Воложи on 1,5 млрд dollars, they divide 1561 place.

For the first time, the founder of VKontakte and Telegram Pavel Durov, who occupied 1394 place with 1.7 billion dollars, entered the rating of billionaires.
