From February 26 to March 1, Barcelona hosts the annual technology conference Mobile World Congres, where mobile device manufacturers show new products. Along with large companies like Samsung, there are also small Chinese start-ups presenting their smartphones.
Often they borrow the form factors of the flagships of more eminent competitors. 2018 was no exception: several phones with the design of the iPhone X appeared at the exhibition. The companies borrowed design elements from Apple devices before, but with the appearance of the brand “bang” it became more evident. The visitors paid attention to the trend.
several clones of the iPhone X, presented on MWC 2018.
Ulefone T2 Pro
The Chinese flagship became the world’s first phone with a Helio P70 processor. He also received a 6.7-inch display, Android Oreo system and a 5000 mAh battery. The front of the smartphone is very similar to the iPhone X “bangs” and frameless screen, but the back cover with a dual camera is more like the iPhone 8.

Asus Zenfone 5
Edition The Verge has already called the novelty from Asus the “shameless clone” of Apple’s flagship. With the exception of the fingerprint scanner, Zenfone 5 really does not differ much from the iPhone X. Asus head of marketing department Marcel Campos at MWC 2018 said: “Someone will say that this is copying the iPhone X. But we can not avoid that people want. We follow the trends. ”

At the presentation of Zenfone 5, a reference to the “progenitor” of the device design appeared. Developers from the scene stressed that the “fringe” of the Asus phone is 26% less than that of the “Fruit Phone 10”.

About the smartphone Noa N10 was known in early February 2018. Journalists noted that the design of the novelty was obviously done hastily: the “bang” periodically prevented to see the date or time.
The device also has a face unlocking system: it is called a Face ID (with a space), while the name of the Apple system is FaceID.
Wiko View 2
The cutout for the front camera of the smartphone reminds rather the device Essential Phone from the Android creator Andy Rubin than the iPhone X. The “wig” of Wiko View 2 is much smaller, but it also has a built-in face recognition technology
The Chinese brand Doogee showed a smartphone with the design of the latest iPhone and a fingerprint scanner built into the screen. According to the developers, the sensor allows you to unlock the device in half a second.
At the MWC, some journalists noted that Doogee V could not be seen and tried: instead of them on the counter there were cartons with screen outlines and “bangs”.

Despite the double rear camera, located vertically, the journalists noted that the U18 is not very similar to the iPhone X from behind. But in front, it strongly resembles Apple’s flagship and almost a frameless display, and a proprietary “bang”. The Chinese also adopted gesture support and a face unlocking system

The Vernee brand does not deny that it was inspired by the iPhone X: according to the developers, they watched the presentation of Apple in September 2017 and realized that the design with the “bang” would become a new standard. Therefore, already to MWC 2018 they prepared their version of the latest iPhone with Android Oreo.
Both models of the Chinese company – S9 and S9 Pro – were with a cutout for the front camera and an analog FaceID. The name is identical to the flagship Samsung Galaxy S9, which was also shown on MWC. Journalists suggested that the brand wants to increase sales. Also new items of Leagoo are advertised by football players of the British team “Tottenham”.
