IOC did not remove the sanctions from Russia: the Russian national team was not allowed to pass under the national flag at the closing of the Olympics

The International Olympic Committee has kept in force the removal of the Russian Olympic Committee, which includes a ban on the national anthem and flag. This was announced at a press conference on February 25 by IOC President Thomas Bach.Such a decision means that at the closing ceremony of the Games in Pyeongchang the national team will not be able to pass under the national flag. The cause was two cases of the use of prohibited substances: the curler Alexander Krushelnytsky and the bobsledist Nadezhda Sergeeva.Bach stressed that there was no systemic use of doping, for which Russia was removed from the Games. The removal of the ROC will be lifted when the anti-doping unit responsible for anti-doping work at the Winter Olympics reports that no additional cases of anti-doping rule violations have been detected by members of the delegation of Olympic athletes from Russia.
