Figure skater Evgeny Medvedev set a new world record in the short program at the Olympics

Russian figure skater Yevgeny Medvedev set a new world record for the sum of points in the short program in single skating at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang. For her performance, she received 81.61 points.

In women’s singles skating in Pyeongchang are two more Russians: Alina Zagitova and Maria Sotskova. They will present their short programs within the next hour.


February 11, Medvedev won the short program of team competitions, gaining 81.06 points, and set a world record. Earlier, the world record also belonged to Medvedev – 80.85 points. This result she showed at the team championship in Tokyo in 2017 – then the team won silver.
