Monsters caught in fishing nets

When fishing in the open ocean, you really do not know until the last moment who is on the other end of the line. The ocean is so huge and unexplored that it does not cease to amaze even those who have fished species of fishermen and explorers. This year is not yet over, but is already rich in strange, sometimes even unearthly marine inhabitants, who were accidentally caught by fishermen.
1. Atelier fish

Fishermen who caught this fish off the coast of Florida planned to get their own dinner, but certainly lost their appetite. After long attempts at identification, the fish was designated as jellynose or atelier fish.

Little is known about these deep sea inhabitants. It is assumed that their habitat range is the Caribbean Sea, the Atlantic and partly the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
2. Fish-dragon

If the previous find was identified, then this copy is closer to the fantastic films, than to our ideas about the underwater world. Experts identified him as a dragon fish or black dragonfish.

According to very incomplete scientific data, this, more like the character of the film “Alien” creation, lives at a depth of more than 2 kilometers and can reach a length of up to 40 centimeters.
3. The goblin shark

This specimen was also caught off the coast of Florida, off Cape Key West. Accidentally caught in the network shark-goblin was more than 5 meters in length and looked as if sailed to the coast of Florida directly from prehistoric times.

It was not far from the truth. According to scientists, for the last 125 million shark-goblin did not undergo significant changes in appearance.
4. Piranhas with human teeth

Piranhas are the heroes of many not the most pleasant stories in Brazil, but this specimen is far from ordinary. Fish are noticeably larger than the average piranhas and if you look at its teeth, they are more like human than fish.

By the way, this specimen was caught in Ohio, where it was most likely released by a negligent aquarist.
5. Yellow tarpon

Tarpon is a dream for anyone who does fishing in the open ocean, but all documented tarpon have a silver color.

The captured specimen was identified as a species of tarpon, which was considered extinct as far back as the 30s of the last century.
6. Lancet fish

This fish could easily become the main acting hero of the horror film, but the lancet fish is quite real, but still an unexplored marine creature.

The specimen was thrown ashore on the Atlantic coast.
7. Marlin-albino

Marlene can not be called a rare visitor, but this fish is different from everything that fishermen saw. For its snow-white coloring, it was nicknamed the “unicorn underwater world”, and this is really an amazing sight, as usually a marlin of blue or gray-blue color.
