The human skull as a subject of contraband

Customs officers in Indonesia seized two batches of human skulls. Smugglers tried to deliver them to the Netherlands. A total of 24 skulls were found, decorated with Indonesian aborigines. Each of them is considered a cultural value of the country.
When detained, customs officials decided that the cargo was just an ordinary souvenir. But in the course of the examination it turned out that these are human bones. It is supposed that they are finished by the Dayak people – representatives of the indigenous people from the island of Kalimantan. In the distant past, these people bounty hunted and saved the skulls of defeated enemies as an energy source. Senders of contraband have not yet been detained. While solving the problem of preserving unusual bones. There is an assumption that the collection will be sent to one of the local museums.
