The food at night leads to impaired memory and learning abilities

Of course, for the time being all the experiments were conducted only in mice. However, some researchers have conducted tests, which resulted in people working in shifts, worse than others cope with the cognitive tests. Both of these functions, according to modern concepts in neuroscience are governed by the hippocampus – a part of the limbic system of the brain. Some genes responsible for circadian rhythms, learning and memory, are regulated by the protein CREB. This protein is the most active stands in the daytime and at night its activity is significantly reduced. Thus the activity of suprachiasmatic nucleus – hippocampal responsible for circadian rhythms – the protein is not affected.Dissynchronization circadian rhythms in different parts of the brain and leads, according to scientists, a disruption of the normal memory formation. In addition, scientists have noted a violation of sleep rhythms in the experimental mice. Although the total number of hours per day spent by mice in a dream, is not changed, the quality of their sleep worse. They slept fitfully, a short period during the day and night.
