The Chinese are the Chinese: how Asian manufacturers have moved away from the production of “Clone» Apple and Samsung
By 2015, Chinese manufacturers are actively adopts the style of the two recognized leaders in the smartphone market – Apple and Samsung. And the first “get” more and more: almost every self-respecting company from China considered it his duty to steal at least some element of the design of the current model iPhone. Samsung, however, also often suffer from honest lovers borrow as a design element, and exterior of a Korean unit as a whole. In the past year the situation has changed – though not dramatically, but still noticeable. Now, young and hot Chinese manufacturers are looking for inspiration, not only in the products of Korean and American producers, but also in the products of their own fellow competitors – Chinese companies.
Yes, of course, there are exceptions – for example, Vivo X6. If you look at the “back” of the system, it becomes clear that its creators were inspired by the iPhone 6s (well, or iPhone 6) and only to them. How many copies broken when discussing these “awful plastic strips” … The X6 left them. I think, not because they are hidden under the antenna, but just for the sake of similarity.
If Vivo can afford to copy the iPhone, then the design of the Vivo inspired by smaller companies. So, Cubot X17, announced at the end of 2015, presented in May, reminds Vivo X5M.

The company Meizu, at one time had the reputation of a great expert on cloning iPhone all kinds, managed to find their own style and way or another deviate from the formula “take the iPhone, lines and get your own novelty.” And now, Meizu products themselves are the role models: for example, features Meizu Pro 5 can be traced to the first metal machine Xiaomi – Redmi Note3. It is just a smaller (5.5 inches vs. 5.7), there are differences in hardware, however, it makes no difference – when you create a “troika» Xiaomi is clearly focused on the Meizu Pro 5.

Huawei has by virtue of its scale and strong desire to enter the US market (that will happen, if you believe the rumors, in 2016) by copying other people’s products for a long time is not involved – the United States did not encourage such efforts and could call for them to talk to the judicial authorities. Therefore PHABLET Ascend Mate 7, like most other products Huawei last generation, turned out quite authentic. However, only one of its kind in terms of design model did not: the company warning in advance Landvo, will release a smartphone L600S, which resembles the Ascend Mate 7 externally. However, not being performed in 6-inch and 5-inch form factor.

Finally, it is worth remembering a couple OnePus X and Leagoo Elite 1. Last unit released a little earlier, the first – a little later. The concept of the design is united in these smartphones: perfectly smooth front and rear, and in the middle of the “sandwich” – a metal frame. This design looks very nice, and it is believed that he will become the standard for the majority of the Chinese middle-class smartphone for a couple of years. And who invented … Well, who is now plead. Not much mistaken if I say that Sony Xperia Z in his shaggy year. But now – on the brink of 2015 and 2016 – a smart design option is seen as a true Chinese.

Let’s see – in what direction will develop design of Chinese smartphones next year. That said, there are hopes that sooner or later, manufacturers from China will come to create something authentic. And it would be great: no matter how beautiful were the new “iPhone” and “Galaxy”, to win a place in the bright future, should take care not to copy, but the creation of something of their own. Even if the (at first) and with elements borrowed from the neighbors on the market. After all, they – borrowed elements – with time to get rid of a lot easier than entirely copied from the Americans and Koreans design.
